Keerthika’s experience at the Osteopathic Centre for Children is somewhat unique. First a patient, and now a member of staff, Keerthika’s time with the OCC spans different stages of family life. Her first experience with the clinic came through a referral from a tongue-tie specialist, when she sought support for her young daughter.

At the time, her daughter was experiencing a side preference that was affecting her comfort and movement. Osteopathic treatment was recommended, and the outcome left a lasting impression. Keerthika recalls “I first heard about OCC from Royal London Tongue Tie clinic when I brought my daughter in (4 years ago) for treatment.”

Following assessment and a small number of treatments, the improvement was clear: “She had a few treatments and her stiffness resolved.”

This positive experience laid the foundation for a continued relationship with the clinic. In 2022, Keerthika went on to join OCC professionally, gaining insight into the clinic from both a patient and staff perspective, commenting “I then joined OCC as HR Officer in 2022 and have worked here since!”

Now expecting her second child, she has returned to osteopathic care during pregnancy, navigating the physical demands and discomforts that often arise in the later stages. Keerthika has recently gone on maternity leave, but still comes in to the clinic for treatment: “I am now 34 weeks pregnant, suffering from all pregnancy-related symptoms.”

Throughout her pregnancy, she has been supported by OCC’s osteopaths, who have focused on easing discomfort and improving overall wellbeing. Keerthika commented that “the osteopaths have been helping me relieve pain in my back and pelvic and helping me breathe easier.”

Beyond the physical benefits, she highlights the importance of feeling heard and supported during treatment, especially at such a significant time.

“Everyone here is so nice and professional, they listen to my concerns, and help me ready my body for labour.”

As she prepares for labour, osteopathic care continues to play a role in helping her feel more confident and physically prepared.

We wish our lovely Keerthika and her family well! Congratulations!
