Here at the Osteopathic Centre for Children, we take patient care very seriously. We kindly ask that you have a read through our T&Cs to ensure that you get the most out of your appointment at our clinic.

Your First Appointment

Initial Consultation (60 minutes)

  • Detailed medical history and discussion of symptoms with the osteopath
  • The osteopath will then provide an explanation of findings and may provide a diagnosis
  • With your consent, hands-on osteopathic treatment (if appropriate) will be administered

Arriving At The Clinic

  • Please arrive 5–10 minutes before your appointment
  • You’ll be asked to complete a ‘New Patient’ form 
  • Please wear comfortable clothing suitable for examination and treatment
  • At busy times, space in our waiting area is limited to patient (and one parent/carer) , so at busy times you may be asked to wait in the courtyard outside (weather permitting)

Ongoing Care At The Clinic

Follow-Up Appointment (30 minutes)

  • Review of progress; the osteopath will note any changes or improvements
  • Ongoing treatment plan will be discussed
  • The osteopath will administer hands-on osteopathic treatment

Late Arrivals

  • Late arrival may reduce your treatment time
  • If you arrive more than 10-15 minutes late, your appointment may need to be reschedule

Cancelling or Changing an Appointment

  • Please call us to give at least 48 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or change your appointment
  • After three late cancellations, advance booking may no longer be available
  • You may be moved to a same-day booking system, subject to availability

Missed Appointments

If you do not attend your appointment and do not notify us in advance:

  • Advance booking may no longer be available
  • You may move to the same-day booking system

Please note that missed appointments prevent other patients from receiving care.

Conduct & Safety

  • Inform your osteopath of any new injuries or medical conditions
  • If you are unwell (e.g. contagious illness), please contact us to rearrange your appointment
  • We ask all patients to treat staff and other patients with respect and courtesy
