At the Osteopathic Centre for Children, we provide expert paediatric osteopathy tailored to every stage of your child’s development—from newborns to toddlers, to pre-teens and teenagers up to 18.

Our London Bridge based clinic offers an open-plan treatment setting that young children find calming. All treatment is extremely gentle and safe for even the youngest of babies. The Osteopathic Centre for Children is dedicated to supporting healthy growth, movement, and overall wellbeing for all children.

What is Paediatric Osteopathy? 

Osteopathy uses extremely gentle, hands-on techniques to help release tension, promote comfort, and support your baby’s natural development. Treatments are carefully adapted to the unique needs of newborns, using only light pressure that many parents describe as soothing and calming for their baby.

Our osteopaths have completed extensive postgraduate training in paediatric osteopathy and have specialist experience in caring for newborns. Every treatment is tailored specifically to your baby, with their safety, comfort, and wellbeing at the heart of everything we do. Our osteopaths are specially trained in cranial osteopathy for babies, and may use these extremely gentle techniques – suitable for the youngest of babies. 

My baby had a bit of a difficult start to life and had to spend 8 days in NICU, while I also was being treated for pre-eclampsia. As a result, my son had some tightness, trauma in his body and a slight tongue tie. The lovely folks at the OCC have been wonderful at helping him with his trauma and tightness. I immediately saw a massive difference in my son’s bowel movements and digestion after treatment. I also love that they are also treating me!

Gentle Support From The Very Start 

Treatment can support breastfeeding & latching, promote general comfort in the baby, and support natural movement and development. Osteopaths sometimes work alongside lactation consultants to give postural advice related to breastfeeding. 

Parents can feel reassured that osteopathic treatment for babies is both gentle and safe when provided by a qualified paediatric osteopath. It is a completely drug-free approach that works with your baby’s body, offering effective, holistic support during the important early weeks and months of life. Throughout the appointment, we take time to explain our findings, answer your questions, and ensure both you and your baby feel comfortable and supported.

We also provide up to 6 sessions for post-partum or pregnant mothers; many new mums find that receiving treatment alongside baby is particularly effective. Find out more here. 

Supporting Growth & Development

As children become more active—crawling, walking, running, and playing—their bodies are exposed to new physical demands. We tailor every session to suit your child’s age, activity level, and individual needs.  

Osteopathy for children can support postural development, healthy movement patterns and improve coordination and balance. Osteopaths are trained to screen for medical conditions and will tell you if you need to see another health professional such as your doctor or midwife.

As a registered charity, our clinic is entirely funded by donations. We kindly invite patients to donate towards the cost of their treatment, where possible. 

The true cost to our charity is: 

  • £100 for an initial assessment  
  • £50 for follow-up appointments  

For families who are unable to contribute, we are committed to ensuring they still receive the care they need—no one is turned away.
