What Our Patient Data Tells Us
Behind every number is a child, a family, and a story. Our patient data for the last six months [1 November 2025– 30 April 2026] gives us a picture not only of how many people we are supporting, but also the growing needs of the families who come through our doors.
1,280 patients attended our clinic in this period.
Families were accessing specialist osteopathic care for their babies, children, and teenagers, for a wide range of health concerns or symptoms. We also provided osteopathic treatment to pregnant women and/or for postnatal care.

Supporting family health
Families come to the Osteopathic Centre for Children with a wide range of concerns and needs.
The most common reasons patients attended this year included:
- Genito-urinary and gastrointestinal conditions
- Pregnancy & post-birth support
- Orthopaedic (musculoskeletal) concerns
- Behavioural concerns
We also provided specialist osteopathic treatment to patients presenting with developmental concerns, physical pain, respiratory conditions and neurological presentations. We also saw families seeking generalist “health check-ups” and more complex needs.
Every appointment represents a family looking for guidance, reassurance and care, and we are proud to be there for them.
More babies and young children accessing osteopathic care
The majority of our patients are children under 18 (86%), with families seeking expert paediatric care for balanced wellbeing. Early support can make a lasting difference, and we are seeing more families returning to us for multiple appointments.
The remaining 14% includes patients who received osteopathic treatment for pregnancy or post birth-related concerns.

Families finding support through trusted recommendations
Nearly half of all referrals (45%) came through word of mouth, with parents, carers and families recommending our services to others. We are so grateful that our patients recommend us to other families.
A further 36% were referred by the NHS and other healthcare professionals. We work closely with midwives, lactation consultants, GPs and other specialist health services to ensure that more families are aware of osteopathy as a treatment option.
While we do work closely with healthcare partners to make sure support reaches those who need it, you do not require an NHS or medical referral to access treatment at the Osteopathic Centre for Children.
Help us continue supporting families
As demand grows, so does the need for support.
We ask our families who use our services to donate towards the cost of treatment if they are able to do so.
But the Osteopathic Centre for Children urgently require more funding. Your additional donation helps us continue providing care for babies, children, young people and families who rely on our services. Together, we can make sure more families receive the support they need, when they need it most.
If you would like to give extra, please consider making an additional donation today. Every contribution helps make a difference.
